We Played Ourselves

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

This week we both felt a bit stupid… More than usually…

Here’s what happened:

Yesterday I noticed that out on our balcony there was A LOT of snow. So, I thought to myself, “How can I use this to trick Lola?” Well, I went and told Lola that I had heard from someone that there was a treasure burried in all the snow on our balcony. And believe it or not, she bought it!

I then stood inside and watched Lola tire herself out over nothing:

While Sasha was watching me dig further and further into the snow, I got suspicious. I figured that if there really was a tresure then she would want it herself! So, I went inside with my master plan figured out: I said to Sasha: “Oh my! That treasure is huge! Thanks for the tip, Sash!” And she said: “Treasure?!? You found it?? What?!” And then she rushed outside.

I was pretty happy at this point. And I did the same thing that Sasha had done when I was digging for nothing, I simply just sat there, in the windowsill and giggled:

The oldest known age for a fish was an Australian lungfish. In 2003, it was still alive and well at 65 years old. (This does not include sharks.)

David & The Cats

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

This week it has been very snowy and very dark outside. The sun actually never comes up. We won’t see the sun again until late January.

Since we were feeling a little under the weather, Zoe thought it was a good idea to plop us down in front of the TV and watch David Attenborough talking about birds!

And it actually turned out to be quite a lot of fun! Check it out:

That was fun! It was even fun when thought that the birds had flown behind the TV, and then when we went to check if they were there, we of course felt real stupid!

Yeah! And David is so good at explaining stuff!

Mhm, I know.

*Winks at Lola*

What’s that supposed to mean?!?

Oh, nothing… It’s just that it’s so obvious that you have a thing for him.

WHAT!? Naha!

Oh, just admit it!

Well, alright… I call dibs!

FUN FACT:

Male donkeys are called jacks and females are called jennets or jennies. Donkeys are very social and usually live in a group called a herd. The herd is usually lead by one jack and consists of several jennies in the wild.

New Scratch Mat!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

This week the humans finally took the hint and replaced our old and destroyed scratch mat.

Yeah, that was about time!

Yup, that’s for sure!

Here is a video of me testing out the new one (the old one is on the right, about to be thrown away):

These ignorant humans think that we cats only scratch to sharpen our claws. But little do they know…

FUN FACT:

When cats leave scratch marks outside these visual markers show approaching cats that they’re entering an area where another cat lives. Scratching also creates a chemical signal. There are scent glands in the paw pads that release pheromones as the cat scratches. Any cat who comes close will get valuable information about the cat who did the scratching.

Sasha The Strangest

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We have been binge watching season 2 of Stranger Things! Poor Zoe has a bit of a cold so we’ve been just chillaxing on the couch with her.

And I have been giving her a neckrub, which she is really enjoying!

A neckrub?! You are just literally being a pain in the neck!

FUN FACT:

The cat that dies in Season 2 of Stranger Things is called Mews.

Ur’in Trouble

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

This week we have been, or Sasha has been, up to some funny buissness in the fresh snow…

I don’t really know how to adress this following photo, so, I’ll just show you…

Balcony''''''-

As we unfortunately all can so clearly see, Sasha is doing what she does best in the snow. Wink wink.

Um, what? I was not doing anything naughty out there! I was just enjoying the fine early winter morning.

Oh yeah? And I’m the queen of Bulgaria. Take a look at this video I took of you moments after the picture was taken:

Halloween Snow

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We have been so worried that we wouldn’t have snow for Halloween. But, our “prayers” were answered, and today we got lots of snow! When we got up thin morning there was just a light sprinkling of snow, but now we ave loads of it! Yay!

Here are some pictures and a video of us enjoying the chrispy frozen rain:

What was up with that last one Lola?

Haha, don’t ask, don’t tell!

Ok, you goofy little fluff ball!

We’ll talk about that nickname later…

But hey, Lola, what are you gonna be for Halloween?

Huh, that I have not thought a lot about.

Maybe we should do one of those cute but scary Pinterest DIY couples costumes!

Oh, Sasha, you are so funny, but you don’t need a costume to look scary!

Ok, that one was called for. Well played my friend…

When vampire bats feed, they use their teeth to shear away hair or feathers from a small spot and then cut into their victim’s flesh with their sharp incisors.

Out of the Closet

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

This week Lola has been up to her old habit: going into the closet in Zoe’s bedroom.

The problem is that she goes in the closet when the humans have left it open, and the humans usually don’t know that she is in there, so they just close the doors.

She actually really likes tucking herself into small, snug and dark spaces. I personally don’t get it, but, hey, you do you, Lola.

What happens then is that I start to get a little anxious, and I run around and try to catch the attention of the humans, yelling in their faces that Lola is stuck in the closet and that they need to help her. But they rarely seem to understand what I am so frantically telling them…

Luckily Lola most often is smart enough to get out by herself:

And when she comes out, I am always happy to see her!
