Windows

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We have been sitting in the window watching the snow fall. Yes, snow, on the 7th of May.

Lola_window_snow_lr

Our faithful readers will know that we sit at the windows a lot. It’s actually quite nice and peacefull. Here we are a couple of days ago, before the snow came again:

What I like the most about windows is that you can kind of be outside while still being inside and that Zoe thinks I look very pretty in the window.

Sasha_curtains_lr

What I like the most is that you can look out but everyone on the outside can’t see what you are doing on the inside!

Umm… But, Lola, they can.

What?

Yeah, everyone on the outside can see what is going on on the inside.

Are you sure?

Yes. One hundred percent.

Wow. Well, that changes everything! Windows are even cooler than I thought!

FUN FACT:

Cats rarely suffer injuries when they jump through windows — because they rarely jump if the window is too high. There is a name for what happens to cats when they fall from heights, it’s called high-rise syndrome.

Ends and Odds

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We have been looking back at some of the little kooky things we’ve done this winter.

We investigated this really stupid cat toy:

I dug in the snow:

*Note: The door sill is about a foot above the ground, so there was a lot of snow out there..*

And this week I watched a really smart crow solving a complicated problem on tv:

I  think that crow is smarter than you, Sasha.

FUN FACT:

Crows are emotional animals. They react to hunger and invasion by vigorously vocalizing their feelings. They display happiness, anger and sadness.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Just yesterday we had a major snow shower! It’s been really fun because we have had abnormally little snow this winter so far. And apparently it’s been fun for the humans too! On Saturday morning Zoe and her mom went outside in a jiff. They started to build something out of snow in the back yard. We went to check it out — Umm, I went to check it out because you were too scared because you said that what they were making looked like a huge frog.

Naha!

Yeah!

Ok, FINE! YOU went to check it out then… jeez.

cat_head_snow_5

Well, we still have no idea what it is… Is it a frog? It it a dragon head? Is it a two humped camel? An alien? Is it Jabba the Hut, that thing form Star Wars? What is it? It has whiskers so it can’t really be a frog. Can you readers help us figure out what it is?

FUN FACT:

Wood frogs can survive more than 60% of their body freezing for as long as two weeks.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We finally got a proper snow fall!

We have had an unusually little amount of snow this winter so far. We’ve had some small snow showers here and there, but they always disappeared after just a little while. Normally we have this amount of snow in October! And it would usually last a long time.

Here are some pictures of us cautiously looking at the snow from a safe distance:

You were so scared, Sasha!

Nahah!

Yeah, you were! After you went inside to take a snooze with Zoe who was sleeping late–

–I went downstairs to go out the back door! The snow went right up to my whiskers!

Still weird that Zoe’s mom can’t remember how to hold the phone when she is video taping us!

This video and the picture was, believe it or not, taken in the daytime! It is dark because we are in something called “mørketid” which means dark time. The sun won’t ever come up again until late January.

FUN FACT:

A cat can jump up to five times its own height in a single bound.

Fancy Feet

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO :

This week we have been admiring our feet, believe it or not. We took some pictures of our paws. And we are going to see if you guys can guess which feet go together.

These first four pictures are of our front paws:

If you think you know which ones go together and who they belong to, then tell us in the comments below. We bet you can’t guess correct!

And here are our back feet:

You’ll never guess these ones! He he! And can you guess who made these paw prints in the new snow:

All the answers are coming in next week’s blog post, so stay tuned!

FUN FACT:

A cat’s paw print is as unique as as a human’s fingerprint.

No way! You just made that up!

Ladies’ Room

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Hi there!

P1020471

We have been looking forward to spring as you know, but it has not yet come. We can’t wait for summer, but the good thing about still having snow is that we still have our favorite “little girls’ room” out in the garden:

Oh, I just want summer… So do I. I miss the taste of fresh grass…

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We’ve been practicing our synchronized window watching. You may be wondering what that is. Well, it is where we sit in the windowsill and turn our heads in the same way at the same time. And then Zoe takes pictures of us. So we’ve been working on this all week, and this is the result:

  1. Looking out the window:

2. Looking at Zoe:

3. Looking at each other:

Well, after all that hard work we needed to go out for a walk. While we were walking along we realized that there was a lot of dog pee messages on the sides of the path. It is a well-known fact that we cats don’t speak dog. But we think we have understood the dog pee messages pretty well.

This one says “MARRY ME”. But this dog is a bad speller because he forgot one R in marry.

marry me85

We found the answer a little further down the path:

yes800

It was a YES!!!

The bride and the groom both left a message telling their friends and family that the wedding is at 11 am:

And here is someone saying OK:
