Respect Your Cat

No, Lola! I’m talking about International Respect Your Cat Day!

What? I’ve never heard of that Sasha. I’ve only heard of Hairball Awareness Day, National Cat Day, National Feral Cat Day and Happy Mew Year.

Well, Lola, International Respect Your Cat Day is one that our humans missed.

Talk about not getting respect, Sasha!

Yeah, they thought that they would just let that holiday slide by and we wouldn’t notice!

Yeah right.

Yeah, that’s right Sasha! We have Hairball Awareness Day to look forward to on the last Friday of April. That’s a holiday that they won’t forget! 🙂

A survey showed that most pet owners would prefer to stay home and cuddle with their pet (63%) than go on a romantic date with their significant other (35%).

That won’t be our humans after the last Friday of April…

  1. FROM ALISON (who is having technical difficulties so Zoe’s mom is posting Alison’s comment on her behalf):
Dear Sasha and Lola, if one wants to participate in international hairball day can you suggest how one might decorate the house and what food does one serve to make a really great celebration?

    • Allow me to recommend chicken soup with feather light hair balls (kosher for Passover). Hair balls were eaten by Moses in the dessert and their less flavorful counterpart Matzo balls were based on them.

I say don’t sweep or vacuum for a month and if you have cats then your house will be in purrfecty decorated by International Hairball day.

  2. You have to wear all black clothes to show off every single cat hair that might land on your clothes. Unless you cat is black. In that case you have to wear all white clothes.
    L&S 🙂
