Windows

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We have been sitting in the window watching the snow fall. Yes, snow, on the 7th of May.

Lola_window_snow_lr

Our faithful readers will know that we sit at the windows a lot. It’s actually quite nice and peacefull. Here we are a couple of days ago, before the snow came again:

What I like the most about windows is that you can kind of be outside while still being inside and that Zoe thinks I look very pretty in the window.

Sasha_curtains_lr

What I like the most is that you can look out but everyone on the outside can’t see what you are doing on the inside!

Umm… But, Lola, they can.

What?

Yeah, everyone on the outside can see what is going on on the inside.

Are you sure?

Yes. One hundred percent.

Wow. Well, that changes everything! Windows are even cooler than I thought!

FUN FACT:

Cats rarely suffer injuries when they jump through windows — because they rarely jump if the window is too high. There is a name for what happens to cats when they fall from heights, it’s called high-rise syndrome.

The Blue Square

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TOO:

This morning we were taking a nap and we woke up peacefully in Zoe’s bed. It started off very normal, but then we heard Zoe calling us from upstairs.

Cats_napping

We ran upstairs expecting a treat, but to our surprise we saw a LARGE…. BLUE…. SQUARE!

We had heard all about the blue squares. But we had never actually seen one in real life. The myths and stories have been going around for centuries. You step into a large blue square and you NEVER come back!

One thing was for sure: we were not going to be stupid and go into that blue square.

We want to warn our readers about the blue quare. Please, if you have been visited by the horriffic blue square, then do not go inside those deadly blue lines.

Warned

FUN FACT:

The closest relatives of the hippopotamus are whales and dolphins.

This is the only known cat that has been inside the large blue sqare and miraculously escaped, but you can see the after-effects:

Bath Time

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

I’ve been perfecting my drinking skills:

Wow! Looks like you’re really multitasking! Drinking and getting a good washing in between your toes!

Yeah, well speaking of washing your body, here’s what I saw you doing this morning:

I wish you played with me as much as you play with your own tail, Sasha!

Ends and Odds

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We have been looking back at some of the little kooky things we’ve done this winter.

We investigated this really stupid cat toy:

I dug in the snow:

*Note: The door sill is about a foot above the ground, so there was a lot of snow out there..*

And this week I watched a really smart crow solving a complicated problem on tv:

I  think that crow is smarter than you, Sasha.

FUN FACT:

Crows are emotional animals. They react to hunger and invasion by vigorously vocalizing their feelings. They display happiness, anger and sadness.

Respect Your Cat

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

No, Lola! I’m talking about International Respect Your Cat Day!

What? I’ve never heard of that Sasha. I’ve only heard of Hairball Awareness Day, National Cat Day, National Feral Cat Day and Happy Mew Year.

Well, Lola, International Respect Your Cat Day is one that our humans missed.

Talk about not getting respect, Sasha!

Yeah, they thought that they would just let that holiday slide by and we wouldn’t notice!

Yeah right.

furball

Yeah, that’s right Sasha! We have Hairball Awareness Day to look forward to on the last Friday of April. That’s a holiday that they won’t forget! 🙂

FUN FACT:

A survey showed that most pet owners would prefer to stay home and cuddle with their pet (63%) than go on a romantic date with their significant other (35%).

That won’t be our humans after the last Friday of April…

Circus Purrformance

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

This week a circus came to town. And guess who is their latest high wire artist. I’ll give you a hint: It’s a cat that lives in this house and its not me. Take a look:

cirque_Sasha

Haha! April fools! That didn’t really happen! Sasha is actually sitting right next to me trying to get cozy with Zoe on the couch:

Jeez, Sasha, it looks like Zoe isn’t really in the mood for some cozy time! But that doesn’t stop you!

Nah, if I wanna cuddle, it’s happenin’!

FUN FACT:

The smell of a skunk can be detected by a human a mile away.
